Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in delivering the products and services at our Pitsburg, OH location.

Job Classification: Full time with benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as 401K, pension and PTO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on workload schedules, and requisitions materials.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Inspect and measure products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet workload schedules.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Develops an atmosphere of teamwork among peer management staff, as well as with employees.
  • Continuously follows the safety guidelines and safety programs established by the Harvest Land Co-op.
  • Maintain customer’s positive impression of Harvest Land’s COA division and its employees.
  • Maintain location, ensuring safe, clean and attractive appearance.
  • Exhibits sufficient computer technical skills.
  • Implements, promotes, and supports the Yield Pro agronomy program.
  • Supports Harvest Land Co-op’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Directly supervises the assigned employees at assigned Central Ohio Ag location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting the Division Manager with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: 

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or 4 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience within farming, agriculture and/or grain operations are preferred.

Language Skills: 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Internet software and Inventory software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

Candidates must be willing to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements and a commercial applicator’s license that meets the minimum compliance requirements of the regulatory state in which the applicator operates. Candidates must also have a good driving record, clear criminal background check and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Voluntary training in providing First Aid and CPR.
