Job Title: Operations Associate

Job Summary: Performs functions at the Verona Ag Center (and other Central Ohio Ag Centers when requested) that may include maintenance of equipment, plant, rolling stock, operation of forklifts, loaders, operating tender trucks, loading customers' vehicles with product, unloading of deliveries and other duties as required.

Seasonal overtime should be expected.

Job Classification: Full time with benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as 401K.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports Harvest Land Co-op's stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
  • Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
  • Implements, promotes, and supports the YieldPro agronomy program.
  • Continuously follows the safety guidelines and safety programs established by the Harvest Land Co-op.
  • Performs required and requested maintenance on the Ag Center's plant and equipment.
  • Performs required and requested maintenance of the Ag Center's product inventories.
  • Delivers to customers, products and services that are sold by the Ag Center.
  • Keeps the Ag Center Manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.
  • Promotes the business with existing and potential customers.
  • Assists in keeping all inside and outside work areas extremely neat and orderly.
  • Loads and unloads inbound and outbound grain inventory.
  • Assist in office when other office personnel are busy.
  • Safely work with all tasks associated with Anhydrous Ammonia and filling of equipment.
  • Operate a tender truck, deliver product to commercial applicator in a timely manner, inventory and properly use all products on the truck and maintain proper documentation for the products.
  • Keep track of product inventory and relay information to manager accordingly.
  • Performs other tasks as requested and required.

Education and/or Experience: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a preferred (but not mandatory) one to three years related experience and/or training.

Language Skills: 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical Skills: 

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

Candidate should be willing to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements. Candidates must have a good driving record, clear criminal background check and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
