Job Title: Administrative and Operations Support Associate
Location:  Lapel, IN
Division:  Agronomy
 
This position offers full time employment with benefits including full medical, dental, vision and life insurance as well as 401K. Starting salary range is $11.00-$15.00 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications.
Summary: Assists in all operations and functions at the Lapel Ag Center including providingclerical assistance, as well as operations support assistance, by performing the following duties:
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports Harvest Land Co-op’s stated Vision, Mission and Business Values.
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customers service and projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Uses Harvest Land’s computer system to input data, prepare correspondence, process customer invoices and payments.
  • Weighs incoming and outgoing loads of Ag Center materials or chemicals.
  • Prepares receipts and bank deposit documents for presentation to bank. Any discrepancies between actual cash and receipts will be reconciled and reported to immediate supervisor. 
  • Answers telephone, conveys messages, runs errands and files documents.
  • Assists in keeping all inside and outside work areas extremely neat and orderly.
  • Assists on-site customers with loading and unloading of products, including the use of a forklift.
    • Receives Ag Center and chemical orders and prepares those orders for loading or application.
    • Make sure all deliveries to customers are properly invoiced to the customer's account.
    • Produces month-end and year-end reports from Harvest Lands’ computer system.
    • Keeps the Ag Center Manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.
  • Promotes the business with existing and potential customers.
  • Continuously follows the safety guidelines and safety programs established by Harvest Land Co-op.
    • Performs additional tasks that may be required.

Education and/or Experience                                           
Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1-3 years or more related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates are preferred to have experience with both  administrative work, Microsoft Office software, customer service and agriculture.
Language Skills                                                    
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
 
Mathematical Skills                                             
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
 
Reasoning Ability                                                
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
 
Computer Skills                                                   
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 
Valid Driver's License is required. Candidates will need a good driving record, clear criminal background check and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
