Job Title: Administrative Assistant/Office Support Associate

Location: Eldorado Ag Center

Division: Agronomy

Summary: Provides the Ag Center location clerical assistance by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Writes, types or enters information into computer to prepare correspondence, receipts, checks, or other documents.
  • Weighs incoming and outgoing loads of Ag Center materials or crop protection products.
  • Proofreads records or forms including timecards. Sorts and files records.
  • Receives payments from customers.
  • Prepares daily bank deposit in accordance with Harvest Land policies. This includes checking daily receipts against actual cash, and entering deposit correctly in Harvest Land's computer system.
  • Employee is also responsible for preparing deposit document for presentation to bank. Any discrepancies between actual cash and receipts will be reconciled and reported to immediate supervisor.
  • Addresses envelopes or packages.
  • Answers telephone, conveys messages, and runs errands.
  • Stamps, sorts, and distributes mail. Prepares items for courier service.
  • Keeps the office area clean.
  • Greets customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
  • Makes occasional deliveries of Ag Center or chemical products.
  • Receives Ag Center and crop protection product orders and prepares those orders for loading or application.
  • Make sure all deliveries to customers are properly invoiced to the customer's account.
  • Uses the Harvest Land computer system to input data concerning Ag Center customer information. This may include such items as mapping, fertility levels, and past yield and crop data with the Yield Pro Agronomy program.
  • Produces month-end and year-end reports from Harvest Lands’ computer system.
  • Keeps the Ag Center Manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.
  • Supports Harvest Land Co-op’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
  • Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
  • Implements, promotes, and supports the Yield Pro agronomy program.
  • Performs additional tasks that may be required.

Language Skills: 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Education/Experience: 

Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four years or more related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates are preferred to have experience with a multi-line phone system, Microsoft Office software and customer service.

Valid Driver's License is required. Candidates will need a good driving record, clear criminal background check and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

This position offers full time employment with benefits including full medical, dental, vision and life insurance as well as 401K. Salary depends upon experience and qualifications. Range varies from $11.00-$14.00 per hour.
